Samsung on Thursday added a new Medications tracking feature to the Samsung Health app that will help users keep track of their prescribed or over-the-counter medications while providing essential medical information and tips.
The company said that the Medications feature has been designed keeping in mind the needs of Indian consumers.

The feature will be available on the Samsung Health app in India via the app updates.
“With the addition of Medications feature for India in the Samsung Health app, we believe users will be able to manage their medications more conveniently, improve adherence, and ultimately maintain better health,” said Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director, Samsung Research Institute, Noida.
The feature is designed to assist those on a medication regimen for hypertension, diabetes, PCOS, PCOD, and other chronic conditions that require timely doses by tracking their medication adherence, the company mentioned.
How does the Medications tracking feature work?
When users enter the name of a specific medication into the Samsung Health app, the Medications feature will provide detailed information, including a general description and possible side effects.
Additionally, this new feature will offer insights into adverse reactions from drug interactions and other important safety guidance.
Users can also set up alerts to remind them when to take their medications and when to refill them, all seamlessly through the Samsung Health app.
Users can customise these alerts to fit their individual needs, allowing them to prioritise medications based on their importance. Samsung Health sends reminders that can vary from “gentle” to “strong”.
