There have been a few rumours about the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 ahead of Apple’s event next week, where it is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 16. However, a report from 9to5Mac suggested that the new model will feature an upgraded ECG sensor capable of detecting sleep apnea.
This report is in line with Bloomberg’s recent article, which also stated that the Watch Series 10 will be able to identify signs of sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea is a condition that causes people to suddenly stop breathing during sleep. If the smartwatch detects potential sleep apnea in a user, it will recommend that they seek medical advice for further testing.
The upcoming Watch Series 10 could feature slightly larger displays and a thinner case, along with improved water resistance to support the Apple Watch Ultra’s Depth app.

According to the report, the tech giant might also enhance the way its sensors analyse health data, potentially searching for signs of atrial fibrillation directly on the Health app rather than on the Apple Watch.
Apple’s ‘It’s Glowtime’ event is scheduled to take place on September 9 in California, US. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube, Apple TV, and Apple’s website.
