Google’s annual ‘Made by Google’ event, which is set to take place on Tuesday in the US, is a highly anticipated tech showcase where the company unveils its latest hardware innovations. The tech giant has already confirmed that it will be unveiling the latest lineup of Pixel smartphones at the event.
The lineup is expected to include – Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 XL, which will have a prominent camera bar on the rear. Google might also rebrand its latest foldable smartphone. Instead of Pixel Fold 2, the device would be called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
According to a leaked spec sheet from OnLeaks, the Pixel 9 Pro variants will feature a G4 Tensor CPU (which is expected to be somewhat upgraded) and 16GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the standard Pixel 9 is believed to feature the same processor, a 6.3-inch display, and 12GB of RAM. Both phones could start with 128GB of storage, with the Pro model offering up to 1TB.
The Pixel 9 is reported to be available in obsidian, porcelain, rose, and green, with the Pro variant also available in charcoal, porcelain, rose, and hazel.
As per rumours, Google will unveil the Pixel Watch 3, which will be available in two sizes – 41mm and 45mm. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are also anticipated to be announced at the event.
According to rumours, Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 will feature a new “Tensor A1” chip that improves active noise cancellation. The buds might feature conversation detection and up to 30 hours of battery life with the case (or up to eight hours without), but it’s not clear whether this is with ANC turned on or off.
The 41mm variant is rumoured to have a 10 per cent bigger screen than its predecessor. Recent reports also indicate that both Pixel Watch 3 models will include a brighter 2,000-nit display and an ultra wideband processor, which could improve location tracking accuracy.
Both sizes could provide up to 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display activated, or up to 36 hours with the new Battery Saver option.
With an aim to boost productivity and make photo editing much easier, the tech giant intends to integrate the Gemini AI assistant deeply into all of these phones, suggests reports.
