Garmin has added the Meditation activity feature in its Forerunner 955 smartwatch via the new Public Beta Version 21.14 update.
The new update also brings a couple of new features to the wearable, improvements, and various bug fixes.

The new Meditation activity was previously available only on the Venu 3 and Vivoactive 5 smartwatches.
This feature includes three options:
1. Free Mode: the most basic option that provides a timer.
2. Session Mode: which offers presets like Mindful Sounds.
3. Custom Mode: allowing you to personalise your meditation experience according to your needs.
The change log for beta version 21.14 also includes the addition of a Moon Phase glance and enhancements for the Pool Swim activity.
Lactate threshold estimates can now be generated automatically without requiring a guided test or a heart rate monitor strap.
Additionally, the issue with images from Android smart notifications not loading has been fixed.
To manually download the update, go to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
However, a post in the Garmin forum indicated that this is a phased rollout, and it is unclear how many Forerunner 955 smartwatch users have already received the update.
Meanwhile, Garmin has launched its Fenix 8 series of high-end multisport GPS smartwatch in India, designed for athletes and adventurers.

The Fenix 8 series smartwatches come available in Solar and AMOLED versions, offering advanced tracking capabilities, new fitness modules, and improved battery performance to enhance users’ fitness journeys.
The AMOLED version of the Fenix 8 series comes in three sizes: 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm, and the solar charging model, with Always-On display functionality, comes available in 47mm and 51mm sizes.
These smartwatches can be purchased at premium stores and on the Garmin India website, with prices starting at Rs 86,990.
