Tech billionaire Elon Musk has urged people to submit their medical scans to his artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ‘Grok’ for analysis.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO encouraged his followers on X to submit medical images like X-rays, PET scans, or MRIs to the AI chatbot.

“Try submitting X-rays, PET, MRI or other medical images to Grok for analysis. This is still early stage, but it is already quite accurate and will become extremely good,” Musk wrote.

“Let us know where Grok gets it right or needs work,” he added.

The tech billionaire launched Grok, a product from his company xAI, in 2023. The latest version of the generative AI chatbot is described as a “frontier language model with state-of-the-art reasoning capabilities”.

Users reaction

Since being shared, the post has been viewed over 32 million times. In the comment section, several users posted screenshots showing Grok’s analysis of their medical scans, blood test results, and more.

A user, who analysed the blood test results, wrote, “Seems to be accurate with blood tests result example”.

“It’s good with MRI images,” said another user.

“Absolutely spot on and took less than a second. Hugely impressive stuff,” one more user mentioned.

Additionally, a user in the comments asked Musk, “Will we be able to submit other medical results, like lab work, for Grok to analyse trends and explain terminology?” Musk responded simply, “Yes.”

Earlier this month, Musk said that AI will surpass the capabilities of the best doctors. This was in response to a post by Bindu Reddy, CEO of Abacus.ai.

Reddy had expressed her belief that AI should replace human doctors as soon as possible, citing the limitations of human doctors in memorizing and retrieving information, as well as the prevalence of mistakes in their practice.

Musk responded to her post, saying, “AI will be better than the best doctors”.
